Synopsis

Detective Dean Matheson has returned to his hometown to begin his new job and put the traumatic events of his past behind him – but his fresh start won’t last long when the local area is hit by a series of strange disappearances and twisted killings …

A nameless girl badly beaten and dumped in front of the mysterious new church. A shocking murder scene discovered in the apartment over the diner. A child missing without a trace.

These are the crimes Dean Matheson is confronted with in his first week as detective. Are they isolated events, or is something altogether more disturbing happening in Maple Valley now that Dean’s back in town?

Book 3 – Dean Matheson follows Where the Snow Bleeds (Book 2). Book 1 Who Cares if They Die.

    A thrilling thriller.
Won’t You Save Me was not ideal late night reading for me, so for your own peace of mind, check your doors and windows before starting chapter one.
I was immediately gripped by the sheer horror unfolding. A morgue in the dead of night, a pathologist working alone, unexplained human noises. Then a dead body sits up after unzipping themselves from their body bag. It’s all so chillingly described.
Police officer Dean Matheson, introduced in a previous book, is now teamed with Eva Valdez and together they investigate the murder of a young woman. All is not as it seems with many unexpected twists and turns.
The last quarter of the book was ‘unputdownable’. Not to be missed.

Wow – This has got to be my favourite book in the series!

Its great to catch up with Dean and his return to his home town, this time as a detective, not a police officer, and all the familiar characters that we have come to know (including Rocky 🙂 )

This book packs a lot in and at first I thought there was too much going on and then bang, the reveal begins and at that point I just couldn’t put it down and read way in to the night !

An absolutely brilliant read in the series. I’ll be interested to see where the story goes from here as there is always just give a glimmer of a tease at the end.

Another brilliant book by Wendy Dranfield. Dean and Eva are back and this time bring their unique partnership to the Maple Valley Police Department. They hit the ground running. A serial killer is on the loose, Dean is concerned a young girl has hit the rocks, the corpse at the morgue is anything but dead and the town is full of clowns. It had me hooked from page one. Do not start this book late at night, Wendy keeps ramping up the tension, and if you’re anything like me you won’t want to put it down. Thank you Wendy and I can’t wait for the next one.

This 3rd book of the series ties up the loose ends from the first two books but also stands alone well. Dean, and his new partner Eva, are confronted by 2 seemingly unrelated murders and it takes all their experience to try to solve the enigma. The twists and turns will keep you entertained throughout the book, and the pages will turn fast as you can’t wait to see what happens next. Good versus evil, ones hopes that good will prevail but nothing is certain in Maple Valley.

What an amazing sequel from Who Cares if They Die and Where the Snow Bleeds

This was exciting and edge of your seat reading – absolutely compelling and a rollercoaster of a ride.

There were so many ways the story could have gone and you are left gripped by what will or could happen next. Didn’t see a lot of the outcomes coming – which is just incredible.

We meet Dean, Emily, Eva, Rocky and lots of the same characters from the previous books and it’s as if they are all real. They seem to come alive the more you read.

Eva – like me me is haunted by random single balloons being tied up … they remind her of the film IT and Pennywise. I can’t watch or look at anything to do with either – but Eva and Dean hear strange goings on at a new attraction featuring a haunted house and seriously messed up and scary occurrences happening as soon as you walk inside. It turns out this is the least of their worries.

Beth is back and up to her old tricks. Dean finds himself having conflicting feelings for his co-worker and the woman keen to sell his house. But it is not all as it seems.

Sit back, curl up and absorb this intensely addictive storyline !

Oh and the even better news is there is another book in Dean Matheson series coming our way soon – and I am literally so excited ! Can’t wait.
